On 19thOctober, 2016 Project Management Institute (PMI) Bangalore Chapter conducted Project Management Concepts for Student Community under their PM Primer program at NIMHANS Convention Centre. Twenty-seven students from Department of CSE, ECE and ISE were accompanied by faculties Dr. Ramya Dorai, Prof. Sejal N and Prof. Roopashree S, Department of CSE to the venue.

The programme main speakers were Ms. Nemichandra, Chief Designer (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Mr. Vilas Kadiyal and Mr. Satish Chandra, PM Consultant.

PMI Bangalore India Chapter is one of the non profit societies to establish benchmark for quality services to the community. It offers multiple platforms in Project Management skills for members, Corporates and Community at large.

PM Primer workshop objective was to orient student community towards project management concepts which included the project management context and life cycle phases of the project. During the workshop the five process groups of project management framework – Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling and Closing was briefed. The program also highlighted on knowledge areas, key general terms management concepts used in organizing and leading teams, tracking progress, effective communication and critical factors that influence successful project execution. Workshop was overall beneficial in gathering many concepts related to project management which can be applied to attain success in our day to day life planning.
