On 26th August, 2015 the department of Computer Science & Engineering. TJIT organized a guest lecture on “Career Options” by Mr.Vipin from CL Excecutrive. The guest speaker in his presentation highlighted the possibilities of doing higher studies, the salient features and the endless opportunities offered by the foreign universities for students from India. He explained in detail about the educational system in foreign universities.

The speaker focused on GRE and discussed about the following:

·         The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test that is an admissions requirement for most graduate schools in the United States. Created and administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS) the exam aims to measure verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, analytical writing, and critical thinking skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not related to any specific field of study. The GRE General Test is offered as a computer-based exam.

·         The structure of the computer-based GRE revised General Test consists of five sections. The first section is always the analytical writing section involving separately timed issue and argument tasks. The next five sections consist of two verbal reasoning sections, two quantitative reasoning sections, and either an experimental or research section.

The seminar was attended by V semester CSE students. This seminar gave awareness to students about the various career options and the way to process for higher studies with scholarship.
