Students of department of Civil Engineering along with faculty of the Civil department visited the Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research Center Bangalore on 2nd March 2016. The principal mandate of the organization is to carry out geological exploration and discover mineral deposits required for nuclear power programme of India.

AMD organized the 102nd Indian National Science Congress exhibition from 2nd March 2016 to 3rd March 2016. Posters on Uranium deposits of India, exploration strategy, ore reserves of different atomic minerals were displayed. Rock and mineral samples representing different atomic minerals along with portable gamma-ray spectrometer and ultraviolet lamp were also kept for display. About 140 students and 5 faculties from department of Civil have visited the AMD gallery. Student’s queries were answered with detailed explanation by AMD Officers and further requested to visit AMD website for more information. The visit was very informative for the students and staff.
