TJIT with its drive towards furthering technical education and fostering an environment for achieving new frontiers in the field of technology encourages its students and faculty to participate in various research projects. Currently TJIT offers doctoral programmes affiliated to VTU in the following disciplines:

Through the establishment of VTU affiliated research centers TJIT aims to:

• ◊ Oversee the research activities regarding the PhD work under VTU
• ◊ Facilitate the research activities both theoretical and empirical, that are relevant to the industry.
• ◊ Facilitate in developing case studies and working papers relevant to various disciplines.
• ◊ Encourage faculty members and students to attend and to organize national and international seminars and conferences on relevant management issues.
• ◊ Collaborate with the external bodies/organizations to carry out research.
• ◊ Encourage faculty-student collaborative research to present papers in various seminars and conferences of national and international repute.
• ◊ Encourage in showcasing the research work done by both faculty and students to the corporate world to promote effective academy-industry interface.
• ◊ Bring innovation in delivery by carrying out research in pedagogy
